Use the free Google Migration application to migrate email, contacts and calendar data from your organisations Microsoft Exchange to Google Apps. Bulk migration of users, migrate calendar and contacts using simple or large scale migration.
The new Google Apps Migration tool for Microsoft Exchange is a free tool for Google apps Premier or Education Edition users. You can use the tool if you are running either Microsoft Exchange 2003 or Microsoft Exchange 2007. Whether you are running locally or from a hosted environment, it does not matter.
Before you migrate your data, you will need Administrator access to Google Apps and Microsoft Exchange.
The tool is designed specifically for administrators who are responsible for the setup and running of migration plans from Google Apps to Microsoft Exchange. You should have a thorough understanding of Google Apps and Microsoft Exchange before attempting to use the tool.
The tool lets you:
Selectively migrate mail folders
Migrate calendar data
Migrate contact data
Use time frames to select which email to migrate
Specify particular users to process and setup concurrent migrations
The migration tool should be run from one or more client machines on the network. If you do choose to run more than one instance, the migration will be down in parallel. By default 10 users will be processed simultaneously.
The following email items will be migrated:
Email messages
Email state (read vs. unread)
Folders and nested subfolders
Junk E-mail
Deleted Items
Attachments
Message flags
Pop messages
The following email items are NOT migrated by the Google App migration tool:
Public folders
Messages larger than 25 MB
Executable files in compressed
Attachments
Posts in mailbox folders
Importance levels (marking messages high, low priority)
Rules
Signatures
POP/IMAP account
Shared mailboxes
Category definitions
Category assignments
