Microsoft Certifications - Books & Training
What about books? Well, good question. There are many excellent books out there for both study material and practice exams in one. These can be divided into 3 groups; Microsoft press, 3rd Party study guides, and cram style. Its no secret that what the Microsoft ones lack in clarity they certainly don't lack in depth. These are excellent for covering the entire exam material but should be preferred as reference material in the workplace. At the other end of the scale the exam cram books provide limited content and should only be considered as the later stages of the learning process. So that leaves the 3rd party books. Don't be put off by the name. The 3rd party books are written by some excellent professionals and cover the material in a step by step process with excellent walk though examples. We recommend you search the Amazon website for Microsoft books using the name of the exam such as 70-229. Amazon is an excellent resource for online reviews and you can quickly filter out the books which are in the 'not so good' end of the scale. Remember you don't have to buy the books from Amazon just find the best reviews for the exam you are taking.

Finally, MSDN. The MSDN website is 'the' place to study. The site has every example, definition and blog under the sun for learning about the Microsoft technologies. We recommend book marking the site, and running through the exam content one section at a time. See if you can write applications that fulfil each of the Microsoft test requirements, then you are surely ready for the exam!Good luck!!
