Bart vs The Space Mutants was the first video game based on the worldwide phenomenon – The Simpsons. Certainly not the best Simpsons game and not a patch on the amazing Simpsons Arcade Games, but still a noteworthy game for the Amiga.
The game included many elements from the TV show including great humour (especially the opening scenes and cutscenes) and also many of the household characters. Sadly, the problem with Bart vs The Space Mutants lay in the games difficultly, which was partly caused by the controls. Combined with unimaginative levels, the game starts very well but descends into repetitive action later on.
That said, the game was still a best seller, partly due to the worlds love of Simpson at the time but also because it appeared on several major consoles including the NES, Mega Drive and even the handheld Game Gear.
Well worth downloading, even just to remember the Simpsons cut scene humour and the first entertaining level.
