The Chaos Engine 2 was the sequel to the smash hit developed by the Bitmap Brothers. Sadly the sequel came at a time when the Amiga was losing its popularity to other consoles including the SNES and Mega Drive.
The game took a different direction to the original, this time focusing on a death match mode where players would fight against each other. It also adopted a split screen display, which at the time of small TV screens was an absolute tragedy.
Some Amiga fans consider the Chaos Engine 2 to be the downfall of the Bitmap brothers who had created many perfect games including Speedball 2, Xenon 2 and Gods. It’s sad but all good things must come to an end and the Chaos Engine 2 was that moment for the Bitmap Brothers.
