This is a must read!!
I picked this book up for my daughter. She was very reluctant to read it. She doesn't really like reading. I asked her to give the book a chance and she first started reading it aloud in the car during one of our long commutes into the city. The next thing I know, she's talking about how she and her girlfriends are reading it during lunch time, and talking about it as the walk down the school halls during the passing periods. We sat down at night and read the parts of the book that she didn't quite understand. It's making her ask questions and gives us something to talk about. I haven't seen my daughter this interested in a book in a long time.

Good Book
I ordered this book because I heard Hill Harper on the radio promoting his NEW book. I went on Amazon to pre-order The Conversation & I saw Letters to a Young Sister & Letters to a Young Brother. A friend said she had read both & they were good, so I sent a copy to my little cousins (ages 15 & 19), both of whom thoroughly enjoyed it & couldn't put it down! I think all young women could benefit from reading this book, not just a "sistah!" If you know anyone who is young and impressionable or perhaps you are wondering how to start some conversations, I would highly recommend reading the book together. I'm 29, and I found it both helpful & enlightening. The only drawback I really found was that it seems like there is a lot of name-dropping in the book. Apparently Hill Harper knows A LOT of people--FAMOUS PEOPLE! I don't think that will be an issue for younger readers, though.
