The D-Link Xtreme N Dual Band Gigabit Router (DIR-825) is the latest addition to the award-winning Xtreme N product family. The dual band technology in the DIR-825 supports 2.4GHz & 5GHz wireless signals at the same time. This allows you to check e-mail and browse the Internet using the 2.4GHz band while simultaneously streaming High-Definition (HD) movies and other media on the 5GHz band. RESET Daily or dont buy this router.
Drops connection every few minutes so :
If you are downloading anything which does not have a resume function, Goodluck as it will have to restart from the beginning every few minutes.
Tech Support - Dont waste your time. You are on your own. They will blame everything you have except their router.
If you are a gamer and connected wirelessly with this router, you will get dropped from your game if it last more than 10-12 minutes (I play Team Fortress 2 and had enough frustrations).
I tweaked every setting I could that would resolve this but did not achieve any results. I have the latest Firmware installed.
I have Vonage and I had to reset the router every other day if not everyday to get my phone back up.
On top of everything, I paid a fortune (relatively speaking) for this router.
Xbox 360 website has this router listed as compatible and preferred. I hope they have updated that by now.
I normally don't write reviews but this product is so bad, I feel obliged to the community to post this review.
If you are just an occasional internet browsing individual please just buy a regular G-router and save money.
If you do anything that I do above, avoid this product and spend your money on a deserving product.
I have nothing good to write about this router except once in a while I can check my Gmail and Hotmail, which is great.

disappointing
Setup using only the web interface; replacing a Netgear WGR614.
The D-Link menus seem poorly organized.
With over a dozen networked devices, I depend on reserved DHCP settings,
which D-Link does support.
Manually configured 5GHz for a+n, 2.5GHz for g+n.
The DIR-825 automatically selected 2.5GHz channel 6,
which already has several other APs at this location,
so I manually switched it to channel 1, which is unused.
One laptop initially connected on 802.11a with a weak signal.
When I tried to switch it over to 802.11g, it fails to get an IP address
and the D-Link lost all its reserved DHCP settings, which is a PITA,
particularly since (unlike Netgear) D-Link seeming does not provide for saving/restoring settings.
This is with the latest firmware (2.02NA)

Avoid this if you're planning on using VOIP other than Vonage
As the title says. The VOIP w/SIP (which vonage doesn't use) just does not work behind the dir-825. Presumably this works w/the major gaming consoles, otherwise there would be more posts from those folks. I would check it out thoroughly, though if you want to use it for this. The dlink support forums are full of complaints about this problem. Dlink has known about this problem even in their latest firmware revision (which ships w/this new) since at least early August, with no acceptable fix. Dlinks solution so far is to post a 'beta' firmware which may or may not fix the problem, but they make no warranty for any damage to the router or your network. So, if you use it and it bricks your $127 router, tough luck. I sent mine back.

Good feature, but not reliable.
I got this router for about 3 months, it has great features, and good looking design. However, it is not as reliable as I thought to be. The wireless feature malfunction after only 2 months of usage, my computers are able to find the SSID but the router can connect to the web page; at the beginning I thought it was my DSL modem caused the problem, but now I switched to cable modem and the problem remain. I have to reset the router almost every day to get it to work, called the tech support not much help neither.
