Works good if you get it.
This item is working fine but I had to get it from another company. Supposedly, it was shipped to me but I never received it. Customer Service had me wait for 2 weeks and then offered a refund or replacement. I asked for replacement but they said the product was no longer available. Yet, it was still being advertised and at one point I received an email with an offer for the same device. So, in the end, I finally got one after about a month of wasted time.

Excellent wireless router, great value
I purchased this router in July 2009, and it has been running ever since. I am using both g and n networking, and the performance is terrific. My netbook reliably connects at 130mbps, 2.4ghz and my laptop connects at 150mbps, 5ghz. Internet radio appliance works well with 802.11g. All use WPA2. Connections are extremely stable, with no disconnects. Range is acceptable, connectivity is available over three floors of my home, with the router located in the upper floor.
I have basic requirements for my wireless router, no port forwarding, use dhcp, etc. My DSL modem is configured in bridge mode, the Linksys WRT400N handles DSL login. My DSL carrier is ATT.
I chose to configure the device via a browser, and not use the supplied utility. It was easy to do, took about 10 minutes. I am experienced in networks, though. So, no comments on the config utility.
The initial release of the device did have bugs. The one that affected me was that the browser interface would stop working, but come back at some stage. As of March 2010 there is updated firmware available on the Linksys web site, seems to have fixed my problem (and a lot of other bugs, apparently). My problem, however, did not effect the device's basic function, it still routed just fine.
The new firmware is solid, for me.

Not as advertised
I was disappointed with this router. I was not able to get the 5Ghz network to work and the 2.4Ghz network dropped often. I'm using a Linksys wireless adapter (WUSB600N) on my laptop which is 25ft from the router. I spent 3 hours on the phone with Linksys tech support. They had me try every possible combination of settings but never got it to work. I hate to be a downer but this was a big waste of my time.

Total Garbage
You can't turn off the built in DHCP server. Even tho it is disabled the stupid thing keeps randomly handing out IP addresses. Port translation doesn't work. MAC address filtering doesn't work. Randomly locks up. Go read the support forums at Cisco --- never seen so many complaints on a product and completely worthless support suggestions from Cisco. This piece of crap is a joke. RUN RUN RUN. After dealing with this POS I would never buy Cisco/Linksys again!
