This is a 4 star probuct!
I recently had a concern if my LinkSys network adapter was compatable with a newly installed Windows 7 operating system. I then got a Medialink MWN-USB54G adapter to replace it. Despite all my efforts, it did not work! I called Medialink for help and the Representative was courteous, patient and knowledgeable. After working with me to resolve the problem, he agreed that the adapter was defective. He then advised me that Medialink would send me a replacement unit along with a Return Merchanise Authoriztion and Return Postage Free Label for the defective adapter. The new adapter arrived within a week and works flawlessly with Windows 7 Premium! I strongly recommend Medialink's product support as well as their products!

Exactly what I needed
I needed something to allow my computer to receive the signal for our wireless router. This was perfect. I was worried it might be big based on reviews of similar products, but it isn't. I plugged it into the usb port, loaded the disc it came with, and I was able to get on the internet. We have not had a single problem with it.

Works right out of the box
I purchased this wi fi adaptor for a friend who knows little about computers. She couldnt connect to the net even tho her 3 roomates had no probs with their connections. The store she got the comp at told her she had corrupted her windows and needed to reinstall. She connected the medialink and it worked, and faster than her roomates connections. I recently upgraded her to Windows 7 and no problems at all. She swears by the meadialink and tells her friends how great it is. What more can i say, it works and works well.

Great Support...Poor Signal
What I liked:

- Customer Service (excellent tech support had me up & running a 2 mins)
What I didn't like:
- Poor Signal Strength: I really wanted this to work but I couldn't get more than a 1 bar signal. My router is in the open loft on the 2nd story while my desktop is on the ground floor in my office. Unfortunate deal breaker.
- Confusing installation for Vista
- Unit gets extremely hot; I wonder how long this unit could take the burning hot heat for?
I returned it and will try a PCI card instead
