70-511 is one of the new Visual Studio 2010 exams covering the .NET Framework 4. Official title is: Windows Applications Development with Microsoft .NET Framework 4. Exam available from summer of 2010.
This exam is designed to test your knowledge and skills for developing applications using Windows Forms, WPF and the new .NET Framework 4. This exam will be available in the summer of 2010.
As usual, questions that contain code will be presented in either VB or C#. You get the choice to select one of these languages when you start the exam.
Before you take the 70-511 exam, you should ideally be working in a development environment that uses Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2010 and Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0 to create WinForms and WPF applications. Around a years experience in developing Windows-based applications by using Visual Studio, including at least six months of experience with Visual Studio 2010 Professional is preferred.
You should have experience in:
Creating data-driven user interfaces for WPF and WinForm applications
Creating layouts by using Extensible Application Markup Language (XAML)
Programming against the WPF and WinForm object model
Unit testing using MSTest
Setup and deployment projects

MCPD: Windows Developer 4Whats new in Visual Studio 2010?Visual Studio 2010 uses version 4.0 of the .NET Framework as the core development platform and supports developing applications targeting new the OS -Windows 7. Unlike previous versions, it provides support for working with IBM DB2 and Oracle databases in addition to Microsoft SQL Server. With the push towards Silverlight, we can now have integrated support for developing Microsoft Silverlight applications, including an interactive designer. Another big step, it's the introduction of several tools to make parallel programming simpler such as Parallel Extensions for the .NET Framework and the Parallel Patterns Library for native code.
