The GP takes a stool sample and reports that the sample contains blood and mucus. Given the information disclosed, which one of the following is a likely diagnosis?




Dysentery is an infection of the intestines that causes bloody diarrhoea and stomach cramps. It is usually passed on through poor hygiene and can affect anyone.
