| In Modern Warfare 3 Kill Streak rewards are separated into three groups; Assault, Support and Specialist. They are completely different to Black Ops and Modern Warfare 2. So which Strike Package is the best one to use?
Unlike the older Call of Duty games where you would have to kill a consecutive number of players in order to earn kill streak rewards, Modern Warfare 3 lets you choose how you want to play by offering you new Support and Specialist Kill Streak rewards.
As a direct comparison, the Assault Strike Package is just like the traditional Modern Warfare kill streaks. You will earn these bonus rewards for killing a certain number of players consecutively. This tally is only increased until you die. Once you die the number of kills resets to zero and you'll need to work your way back up the kill streak chain.
Assault Kill Streaks are the most devastating but of course they are the harder ones to achieve. If you are a good player and know you can achieve 4, 5 or 6 kills quite frequently then the Assault Strike Packages are going to be better for you.
Assault Strike Packages include; Sentry Gun, Precision Air Strike, Attack Helicopter, Strafe Run, Reaper etc..
Support Strike Packages
The new Support Strike Packages are typically a more passive reward that helps your entire team. Things such as UAV radar, drones and ballistic vests are included in this group. The Support Strike Packages are much easier to obtain because you are allowed to die in between kills. Your tally will never reset to zero.
Even though the majority of Support Strike Packages are a twist on the recon and radar intel reward, the later packages such as Airdrop Trap and Stealth Bomber will allow you to gain kills for yourself.
We recommend that you choose the Support Strike Packages if you are a new player or one that rarely gets more than 3 or 4 consecutive kills. This is because the low rewards for the Assault Strike Packages are only UAV, Care Package and I.M.S which are not that useful in a fast paced game.
Specialist Strike Packages
The specialist group of kill streaks does not give you any useable rewards in the sense of planes, bombs, recons etc. Instead, this group will add new perks to your status for consecutive kills (until you die).
What is good about the Specialist group is that you can choose the order of the perks you want to get at 2, 4 and 6 kill levels. So if for example, you really wanted to have the Assassin perk after gaining two kills then you could select this Specialist kill streak first.
In our opinion, the Specialist Strike Packages are not that good, we'd much prefer to have rewarding kill streaks such as helicopter and stealth bombers.
