How to register and take a Microsoft exam?
Microsoft's certification program is the leading certification program for IT professionals. Microsoft awards certifications in a wide range of IT roles such as; developer, technician, manager, analyst, support engineer etc..

How does the certification program work?
The whole Microsoft certification program is managed online via the MCP members area and partner testing centers (you become an MCP member after you pass your first exam). Becoming an MCP brings about other benefits such as access to the latest IT resources and discounts on software and training.
How to register and take an exam
As mentioned above, the certification program is managed online and it's easy to take your first exam. Just follow these steps:1. Register
To take a Microsoft exam you MUST use one of the accredited testing partners. We recommend using the Prometric website (www.prometric.com
). It's an easy to use website with straight forward registration, test centre selection and payment. Prometric operates worldwide so it doesn't matter where you want to take your exam, Prometric will have test centres for you to choose.
Tip: It's important to enter accurate registration information and we recommend using your main email address because future correspondence regarding tests, retakes and your certification status will be sent via this address.

The Prometric website provides an online scheduling feature which helps you find the closest Microsoft test centre and schedule your exam in real time. As you browse test centres you'll see which time slots are available and choose a day and time that suits you best.To schedule an appointment you will need to:
- Select the exam number you want to take e.g. 70-562
- Select the language for the exam e.g. English
- Select a test center e.g. QA Ltd, London
The final step is to pay for the exam. The cost of the exam is shown on the Prometric website before you chose your test centre. This price varies from country to country.Did you know the price of Microsoft exams is increasing?4. That's it - you've scheduled your exam!!
Your exam has now been scheduled and the time slot reserved for you. Just print out your receipt from Promoteric and bring it along to the test center. You should also take one other form of Identification. This can be a driving license or passport.
Remember if you want to cancel your exam, you can use the Prometric website. You can also reschedule your exam for an alternative day. Don't leave it too late otherwise you might not be able to change the time and you'll still be charged!
What happens after I take the exam?
Once you finish the exam your results will be immediately sent to Prometric and Microsoft for verification. If you passed your exam, your certification status will be updated accordingly (this can take up to 24 hours).
You Microsoft Transcript will be updated automatically so you know which exams you've passed.
