Interview Tips

An interview can be a nerve racking process but at the same time it's a necessary process for both you and the employer. It's a chance for them to see the person being the CV and for you to learn more about the job role and the company.

People tend to focus on the do's and don'ts during an interview process, we have compiled a short list of the most important things to bare in mind:

What to DO to prepare for an interview

1. Take time to learn about the company. The first question is almost always what do you know about us

2. Read through your CV and be familiar with what you have said. The interview will always work though it step by step.

3. Prepare you clothes, whether it's smart of casual always prepare before hand. A suit is usually the best option for most interviews.

4. Look up the address for the interview and print a copy of a Google map before you go

5. Recite areas of you CV before hand so you can answer common interview questions

6. Learn the names of the people who are conducting the interview. There's nothing worse than forgetting them during the interview.

7. Think of some questions to ask the employer about the role or the company

8. Get a pen and paper ready to carry to the interview

9. Make sure you have confirmed that you will be attending the interview

<B>What to DO during the interview process

1. Be polite at all times and do not take offence at questions

2. Always shake the hand of the person you are meeting. Before and after the interview

3. Leave on a positive note such as look forward to hearing from you and thankyou for your time

4. Sell youself as much as possible. Answer questions with positive replies even if you don't have experience or skills in the area they are asking about.

5. Accept and offer for water or a drink during the interview. This gives you time for a break and also breaks the process up for the other people conducting the interview.

6. Try and smile and make good eye contact

7. Don't just answer the question to the person asking it, try and give responses to the group as a whole

8. Take light notes

What NOT to do during an interview

1. Never talk about money unless the employer brings it up directly

2. Don't change stories or lie from what you wrote on your CV

3. Don't say that you don't have any questions to ask them at the end of the interview
