Black Ops turn off voice chat

Black Ops multiplayer allows players to talk using the voice chat feature with an attached mic. However, lag and annoying noobs makes you want to switch off voice chat whenever you play black ops multiplayer.

How to turn off voice audio chat in Black Ops?

Unlike Modern Warfare, you cannot turn off voice chat directly using the options menu. In Black Ops you need to mute the voice volume of every player in the game or game lobby.

Its easy to see who has a mic attached to their console via the mic volume icon next to the players name. Go to each of these player profiles and mute the voice volume.

Another option is to add you own headset and not use it. This will mean that all voice chat will go to the headphones and not through the tv speakers.

Apart from these two options, there is no easy way to mute all voice chat in Black Ops multiplayer.
