Mincraft Snapshot 12w16a is the first update to come with a demo mode for Minecraft. Those who don't have a Minecraft account can try Minecraft using the new trial mode. Other improvements include the bonus chest option, single player commands and much more..

Our old friend Jeb has been a little quiet recently, but we'd all be stupid if we thought he wasn't busy preparing the next Minecraft snapshot. So come the 19th April and Jeb has officially released the new snapshot bang on time. It comes with a handful of new features with the demo mode being the biggest addition.

So for those of you who haven't tried Minecraft yet, you'll be able to use the demo mode to play Minecraft (with limited features). It's similar in many ways to the Minecraft Pocket Edition app where you get to try out a limited number of blocks.

Snapshot 12w16 also comes with some other new features

• Bonus chest option on the create world screen
• Single player commands on create world screen
• Language files have been updated
• Lots of bug fixes as usual
