It's only been out a day or so but if you want to get more XP points and unlock the best weapons and perks then you're going to need to learn to play like a pro. Take advice and use these useful tips and tricks for Team Deathmatch and Ground War.

Whether you like it or not, there will always be someone who's better than you at Modern Warfare 3. That's just a fact so it's always worth copying the techniques of the pros and playing them at their own game.

Here are our Pro tips for playing Modern Warfare 3 online..Enjoy..

1. Stick to the walls

Walls are the best defensive strategy in the game. If you can keep your back against the wall and stick to them then you're not going to get shot from behind. If you watch any good player they will always follow the map around the edges and keep their backs covered.

2. Avoid the center of the map if possible

The center of the map is the worst place to venture into. You can be shot from all angles and you're going to make other people's lives easy. We recommend you only venture into the middle of the maps if you keep moving (fast) or if you're in between a group of your own team.

Most newbies will immediately go for the fastest route to the enemy spawn area, usually through the middle. It is far better to sneak your way to the other side of the map by going round the edges.

3. Use UAV to capitalise on your opponents positions

When a UAV is overhead you'll see all opponents positions on the map (unless they have the assassin perks). You should use this information to actively seek out your opponents one by one. Remember though, they will probably be less active because they know you're coming.

The Advanced UAV will also show you the direction they are facing and their movement. Try sneaking up from behind and taking them out.

3. Crouch and take to ground

Crouching and taking to ground are two of the best techniques to avoid being shot. You should use these techniques as soon as you come in contact with an enemy. This will reduce your surface area making it much harder for your opponent to aim at you.

Good players have mastered shooting and crouching simultaneously.

4. Move side to side if under attack

If you come under fire you should move side to side to avoid a constant stream of bullets. This is similar to the crouch and take to ground techniques because it reduces the surface area for your enemy to aim at. Using this simple technique really makes a difference.

5. Try jumping when shot at

Jumping is also another way of avoiding bullets. If you jump as soon as you feel that you're being hit, you will reduce the amount of bullets you take. This technique doesn't always work though and it's better to use the crouch or take to ground manoeuvre.

6. Let someone else go first

It might seem harsh but there are a lot of player who rush straight into the middle of a dangerous area. Use these people as guinea pigs to test for the presence of the enemy. You will be able to see the direction of bullets and pinpoint enemy positions easier.

7. Take cover behind solid objects

Use the solid objects such as crumbled walls and boxes to crouch behind. Most of these objects are at a perfect height to crouch next to and still be able to see over. It's very hard for someone to shoot you when only your head is peeking above the object.

8. Avoid staying near cars

Cars may look like a tempting place to take cover but they couldn't be further from it. Cars will explode if they take too many bullets or if a grenade explodes in their proximity. Once one of the cars goes off, the rest of the nearby cars will do the same.

On the flip side, you can use cars to your advantage and lob a grenade at a group of cars that you know the enemy will be passing through. Just stay well clear of the resulting damage.

9. Immediately move away from a kill zone

Almost every pro player will hunt down the last kill shown on the screen. It's the easiest way to rack up the points. So if you want to avoid getting shot as soon as you've taken out one of them, we recommend that you move away from the area immediately. Or alternatively, just move far enough away so that you can target any players who are hunting for you.

10. Watch a theatre mode and learn from your mistakes

The new theatre mode included in Modern Warfare 3 (and Black Ops) allows you to watch other players and learn how they play the game. You can study the movement of the enemy and plan your attack routes for the next match.
