Modern Warfare 3 - Strike Packages and Perks List Explained

Modern Warfare 3 comes with a load of new and revised perks. The killstreaks are long gone and we've got Strike Packages to play with now. Riot shields make their return from MW2 and weapon proficiency makes a welcome debut.

The old faithful tactical and lethal accessories are still available and also Death Streaks make a welcomed return since being left out of Black Ops. For all the new MW3 perks read on..

Primary Weapon Groups

Players can choose their primary weapon from the groups below:

  • Assault Rifles
  • Sub Machine Guns
  • Light Machine Guns
  • Sniper Rifles
  • Shotguns
  • Riot Shield


Proficiency

Proficiency

Tailor your weapons by using proficiency add ons.

  • None - the weapon is your bog standard edition
  • Kick - reduced recoil when firing (similar to steady aim)
  • Impact - bullets do more damage when passing through materials (similar to hardened)
  • Attachments - players can add two attachments to a weapon (similar to war lord perk)
  • Focus - reduced flinch when you're shot
  • Breath - hold you're breath for longer whilst aiming down sights (similar to scope perk)
  • Stability - reduces your sway when aiming down sights (similar to scope perk and steady aim)


Attachments

Attachments

Many of the MW3 attachments are similar to the Black ops game. These include Red dot sight, silencer, grenade launcher, acog scope, shotgun and extended mags. The new attachments in MW3 are:

  • Heartbeat sensor - gives away the enemies position just like the sensor in the Aliens movie and MW2. Enemy appear as dots on the guns map sensor.
  • Hybrid sight - a sight that combines zoom capability and a reflex sight into one.
  • Holographic sight


Strike Packages



Rewards that are similar to kill streaks but also provide you with benefits. These are split into 3 sections:

AssaultAssault
  • UAV - show enemies on the map
  • Care Package - a random treat which could be any killstreak or even ammo
  • IMS - a bit like a mine, this trap will explode once an enemy comes too close
  • Predator Missile - a remote control missile
  • Sentry Gun - a sentry gun is dropped from the sky. Place it and it'll automatically shoot enemies
  • Precision Airstrike - call in an airstrike
  • Attack Helicopter - a helicopter that attacks enemies automatically (similar to cobra in Black Ops)
  • Strafe Run - call in a group of helicopters to attack a small area on the map simultaneously
  • Little Bird Guard - a helicopter that provides personal protection
  • Reaper - remote control this drone and drop bombs from the sky at will
  • Assault Drone - remote control this ground drone
  • AC130 - control the gun of the AC130 airship
  • Pave Low - a powerful helicopter that attacks enemies
  • Juggernaut - get a juggernaut suit which is equipped with a powerful handgun and riot shield.
  • Osprey Gunner - fly this airship and drop care packages to team mates


SupportSupport
  • UAV - shows enemies on mini map
  • Counter UAV - disable enemy radar
  • Ballistic vests - airdrop for ballistic vests. Pick one up and increase your armour and damage resistance
  • Recon Drone - pilot a UAV helicopter and mark your enemies so team mates can see them
  • Sam Turret - a turret that attacks air support automatically
  • Advanced UAV - reveals the enemy and their movement direction (SR71)
  • Remote Turret - deploy and remote control a turret
  • Stealth Bomber - call in a carpet bomber (B52 in Black Ops)
  • EMP - disables enemy electronics
  • Juggernaut Recon - get a juggernaut suit which is equipped with a powerful handgun and riot shield.
  • Escort Airdrop - an airship that drops a care package and defends it for you


SpecialistSpecialist
  • Recon Pro - targets are painted on the mini map when shot or explosive damage is taken
  • Sleight of Hand Pro (reload weapons faster and switch guns faster)
  • Blind Eye - air support and sentries cannot detect you automatically
  • Extreme Conditioning - run for longer periods
  • Scavenger - replenish ammo and lethal grenades
  • Quickdraw Pro - aim faster
  • Blast Shield Pro - reduces explosive damager
  • Hardline Pro - get strike packages quicker
  • Assassin Pro - undetectable to UAV, thermal, heartbeat sensor and portable radar
  • Marksman Pro - identify enemies from further away
  • Stalker Pro - move faster whilst aiming
  • Sitrep Pro - explosives and tactical insertions are highlighted
  • Steady Aim Pro - less recoil when firing, basically steady shooting
  • Dead Silence - just like ninja in Black Ops, you become silent


Lethal

Lethal
  • Frag - an all purpose grenade that explodes in fragments
  • Semtex - a grenade that sticks to walls and the floor before exploding
  • Throwing knife - a lethal knife that can kill with a single hit
  • Bouncing Betty
  • Claymore - mine that explodes on movement
  • C4 - explosive charges that can be detonated remotely


Tactical

Tactical
  • Flash Grenade - blinds enemies upon explosion
  • Concussion Grenade - slows enemies down and disorientates them
  • Scrambler - jam enemy raders (same as jammer in Black ops)
  • EMP Grenade - disable enemy equipment
  • Smoke Grenade - similar to Willy Pete in Black Ops, this one creates smoke
  • Trophy System - blocks and deflects all enemy explosives even rockets (RPGs)
  • Tactical Insertion - choice your respawn point with this device
  • Portable Radar - just like a motion sensor


Death Streaks

Death Streaks

Death streaks make a welcomed return in MW3.

  • Juiced - Move faster for a few seconds after respawning. (4 deaths.)
  • Revenage - see the position of the last enemy that killed you. (5 deaths.)
  • Final Stand - you get a second chance to come back to life. You fall on your back and can stand again. Similar to 2nd chance Pro in Black ops but there's no need for a teammates help. (4 deaths)
  • Martyrdom - drop a frag grenade after you die. (4 deaths)
  • Deadmans Head - 5 deaths
  • Hallows Point - 5 deaths
