No zombies but Spec Ops Survival mode in Modern Warfare 3

Modern Warfare 3 contains a new Spec Ops mode called Survival. Similar to the Spec Ops mode in modern warfare 2 but players must survival ever increasing waves of enemies. This mode casts doubt on Modern Warfare 3 containing a zombies mode like in Black Ops and World at War.

The Spec Ops Survival mode combines the core elements of Call of Duty and throws them into the survival genre. Playing alone or with friends (online or co-op) you must fight your way through waves of enemy attacks. Each Spec Ops map is designed to create an endless tactical game where players can use a variety of ways to fend of enemies.

One particular map shown at E3 2011 is the Dome map which contains a as you might have guessed a dome (satellite) building in the centre of the map. Each wave of enemy attacks gets more and more intensive. First you'll see standard soldiers, then dogs and then spetsnaz forces rolling in.

Spec Ops Survival sounds like Zombies and yes some of the features are pretty similar. For example, for every kill you are rewarded with money to spend in the armoury. You can buy new weapons or upgrade your existing guns (bit like pack a punch). However, you can also buy extras such as armour, sights and automatic gun turrets. You can even share money between other players which is something that zombies doesn't let you do.

Although its not zombies it's a pretty good alternative and one which will make most COD fans happy..
