COD Ghosts Extinction - Secrets and Easter Eggs

COD Ghosts Extinction is scattered with secret collectibles and Easter Eggs, just like a typical zombies map. In this post we're covering all the interesting secrets in Extinction and explaining what each of them is. We'll update the post as new discoveries are made.

Snowman Aliens

This Easter Egg is only found in the Nightfall map. From the starting area you'll see 4 or 5 electric pylons which spark from time to time. The sequence of sparking pylons is random every game so watch and make a note of the order.



Pick up the Maverick weapon and shoot the canisters on each of the pylons in the order that they spark. If done correctly you'll see the word ZAP appear on screen. You've now activated the Snowman Easter Egg which last for about 5 minutes.

Each time you kill an alien it'll explode into pieces of a snowman, with a large snowman head on the floor afterwards. Not a major easter egg but still a bit of fun.

Alien Teddy Bears

One of the major Easter Eggs in Extinction Point of Contact is the Alien Teddy bears, which is an easy and fun secret to uncover. This Easter Egg is possible with only one player as well as online groups. To unlock this Easter Egg all you will need is the right weapon and a few seconds of precise shooting. Ok, just follow the steps below:

1. Buy the Sniper Rifle (VKS) which is located on top of the dirt mound just before you reach the Girls Lodge Motel.



2. Aim down the sights and individually shoot the letters LOL from the Girls Lodge Motel sign (L from Girls, and OL from Lodge). Repeat a few times until the letters LOL in rainbow colours appear on the screen.



3. Now kill aliens and they’ll explode into glowing Teddy Bears



The effect lasts for a couple of minutes and you can kill aliens using any weapon including tactical strikes such as mortars.

How to unlock Relics

Relics are unlocked by reaching level 30. Each time you prestige you will unlock a new Relic slot which is selectable at the bottom of the Loadout screen. Relics will increase the difficulty of the game but also increase the score, making it faster to prestige if you are a good player.

There are 5 relics in total and players can choose to use one or more (up to 5) relics at once. The more Relics that are selected the higher the score bonus.



There 5 Relics are:

• Take more Damage - Aliens do increased damage with their attacks
• Pistols Only - weapon purchases are no allowed
• Smaller Waller - earn and carry less cash
• Mortal - no class selection allowed
• Do Less Damage - inflict less damage against aliens

How to share money with other players ($1000)

A secret button combination allows you to share money with teammates in $1000 packets. Simply hold down the ADS button (L1 on Xbox) and then hold down jump (X on Xbox). Your name will appear on screen and a crate will drop on the floor in front of you.

Other players can walk up to the crate and pick up the money ($1000) for themselves - just as if they were scavenging any other item. This is perfect if any of your teammates are low on cash.

Hypno Knife - What does it do?

The Hypno Knife is a secret collectible that players will find hidden behind objects or in tight corners of the map. Once picked up, the player can throw the knife at an alien, which if successful will turn the monster into a 'friendly' who'll go off and fight aliens for you.



As with all collectibles, the players needs to find the blue containers and then hold X to search the container first. Only once the search progress bar is complete will you know what's inside the container.

The Hypno Knife is a very rare item, that once used is gone. It's not like a Tomahawk from zombies where you can repeatedly throw it.

Propane Tank - How to destroy Hives quickly?

Another collectible found scattered around the map. The propane tank can be thrown and then shot to unleash a huge explosion. Great for taking out groups of aliens or destroying one of the Hives.

Feral Instincts - What does it do?

Again, another level unlock available in the Loadout screen. Using Feral Instincts turns the screen a darker, yellow stained colour. All aliens will be highlighted in yellow and you'll be able to see them through walls - X-Ray vision.



Players can unlock Feral Instincts at level 4 and then upgrade its potency and duration using skill points earned from challenges and destroying hives.
