Black Ops Team Deathmatch tips and tactics

Black Ops multiplayer Deathmatch tips for those of you new to Black Ops and those trying to earn xp and cod points to reach higher levels. Some of these tips are not that obvious and you'll be suprised how easy it is to play like a pro.

Deathmatch Multiplayer tips

1. Use grenades as a distraction.
Throwing grenades can trick good players into following ghosts. A grenade explosion will appear on the map fooling an enemy into thinking you're firing from that location.

2. Stay together
Working in groups in deathmatch is by far the best tactic. Keep a small gap between yourself and the person in front just incase a grenade is thrown. As soon as your team comes under fire you'll know where the enemy is. Either run around the side of the enemy (flank) or simualtaneously fire at the enemy confusing them so they can't focus on anyone of you.

3. Good players always rush to the spawn
When you respawn, you and your team will start in the same place. Good enemy players will always rush to your spawn to pick off easy targets and new players. To combat this, work your way round the edges of the map so you don't need to cover your back. Then stop before halfway and face back to your spawn. You'll see these good players rushing through the middle, pick them off before they can get to your spawn.

4. Jump and dive to avoid enemy fire
A great way to limit the damage of being fired at is to simply jump. By jumping you cut the number of bullets hitting you momentarily, enough to help you make a get away to a safe area. Similarly, diving also cuts down your surface area meaning theres less chance of bullets hitting you. Good players usually dive towards rooms or walls when under attack.

5. Throw grenades in rooms
As you run around the map throw grenades into rooms where the enemy might be camped. You will be suprised how many assists you'll pick up by doing this.

6. Keep to the edges of the map
Keeping to the edges of the map means you have one less angle to worry about. Try moving in one direction but facing another e.g keep your back to the edge of the map and face the middle.

7. Use spyplane perk
The spyplane perk is a great aid to hunting down the enemy. If your team are all using the spyplane perk then it'll be much easier to see the enemy coming and also to hunt down players. Beware of the enemy spyplane though! They'll do exactly the same.

8. If enemy has spyplane, stick together
If the enemy has a spyplane you can be sure they're coming to find you. Make sure you stick together during this as you'll stand much more chance of fending them off.

9. Use rocket launcher against helicopters
You can use the secondary weapon rocket launcher against enemy helicopters. Remember some rocket launchers are guided and others not.

10. On nuketown stay in the spawn
On small maps such as Nuketown, why not try sitting in the spawn area (starting area) and ambush the enemy. Good enemy players will always try and rush the spawn and you can get some nice points from these guys.

11. Use knife if possible
Remember a knife attack will not appear on the map and its an instant kill. Why waste bullets and take a risk when the knife attack is so effective.
