As with all Microsoft technologies, service packs are an essential way to ensure; software is up to date; it contains few bugs; and is secure. Many of you will be asking whether service packs are covered by Microsoft certification exams?
Microsofts short answer to the question is YES. As long as a feature of the service pack directly relates to the exam material then you should learn that topic. Similarly if a service pack removes features or replaces features, then exams will be modified to exclude or include revised questions. None of the exams will ask out of date questions because service packs are permanent changes that everyone should upgrade to.
As new service packs are rolled out, exams are also updated simultaneously. However, training kits may not get updated, particular print materials such as books etc. Of course, online material such as Technet and MSDN will always be up to date and relevant. So, we recommend using online sources as your final destination to double check your learning material before the exam.
