Zombies Die Rise - How to get the PhD Flopper

Posted in black ops 2

Did you know the Die Rise map contains a hidden easter egg? It's the PhD Flopper perk. The location of the perk is in a secret corridor which is only accessible from the first lift shaft. Previously seen in other Black Ops zombie maps, the PhD Flopper allows you to negate all fall damage and even cause mini-nuke explosions.

As yet, no one has managed to reach the PhD Flopper on Die Rise..

Current theories for getting to the PhD Flopper

The only way to see the PhD Flopper is by slowing down the game while falling down the first elevator shaft (using video editing software or by accessing the Theatre mode). Since the elevator falls so quickly, it's impossible to simply walk towards the secret corridor or time a good jump.

Some fans have suggested falling down the elevator shaft as normal and then using the elevator key to go back up the elevator. First problem, the lift goes up as fast as it came down! There's no opportunity to walk into the corridor at that speed.

Another theory for getting the PHD Flopper is to kill the nova crawlers (rounds 5/7) using only your knife. This gives you free perks, one of which might be the PHD Flopper. We've tried several times and have never been given the elusive flopper perk.

Zombies Die Rise - PhD Flopper

We've got a theory of our own..

Our theory..

Instead of talking the elevator shaft down to the power room, take the other double door entrance leading to the workbench for the Trample Steam. Work your way round the opposite direction of the map, eventually ending up in the MC Escher room. There's a ledge to jump across to the other building where the power room is located.

Turn on the power to activate the elevators and use the Trample Steam to jump back up to the first elevator shaft (which is impossible to reach without the Trample Steam).

Fingers crossed, the elevator will be moving at normal speed and hence stopping at each corridor - including the PhD Flopper!!!

Once we've tried this theory, we'll let you know how it goes..
