BBC News App for iPhone

The new BBC news iPhone and iPad app lets you stay up to date with the latest BBC news from the UK and around the globe including Tech, Entertainment and Sports news.

The original BBC News App was delayed whilst the BBC trust assessed the impact on the rest of the industry. However, the app has been approved and is now available for the iPhone and iPad. The app will eventually be available for Blackberry and Google Android mobile phones soon.

The app displays news stories in simple square blocks that are categorised. There are sections for World, Entertainment, Business, Sport etc.. You can scroll through news stories just by swiping your finger along the phones touch display.

One of the best features of the app is the ability to watch live BBC News. The video does not use flash and so works perfectly on the iPhone and iPad.
