The ITIL v3 foundation exam is the entry level exam for the ITIL certification series. The exam is 60 minutes in length and consists of 40 multiple choice questions. There are no prerequisites for the ITIL v3 Foundation exam and it can be taken directly without attending a training course.
Most training providers recommend that you study for at least 20 hours to be confident in passing the Foundation exam. As with most ITIL exams you'll receive points for passing - in this case you will receive 2 points for passing the ITIL v3 Foundation. These points count towards the higher level of ITIL Expert of ITIL Master.
