Minecraft | How to Create Minecart Tracks

Without Minecart Tracks (or rails as they're known) your Minecart won't be going very far! These tracks must be placed one after another much like a traditional rail track. There are also Power Rails and Detector Rails which can help boost the minecart and control its movement.

You need to make sure that each piece of track is side by side with another piece of track (unless creating curves or ramps).

To create the track you're going to need iron and a wooden stick.

1. Place the wooden track in the middle of the grid
2. Place 2 lines of 3 iron either side of the wooden track (6 iron in total)
3. This gives you 16 tracks

How to create a ramp

Creating a ramp is pretty much done for you. Just make sure you place one piece of track on the side of a block and another piece on top of the block, this will convert the track into a sloped ramp.

How to create a curve (turn corners)

If you place one piece of track on the floor and another piece of track either to the left or right of the direction of the track, it will turn into a curve.
